Meerut Report

Hot!!!! Temperatures were in the mid 40's (deg Celsisus). Even the gulmohars were dull orange and not their usual fiery red

Transportation: 1) A gaily painted auto-rickshaw

2) The ubiquitous cycle rickshaws. I am surprised that given the hot summer, the cycle rickshaws didn't have the retractable hoods.

Some strange fad around there. I saw a lot of bikes with their rear view mirrors turned inwards as if the rider wants to see himself in the mirror rather than traffic at the back.

The funny looking phat-phatis. Another common mode of travel there.

Painting the town red

Gulmohar's are the flowers of the season.. Also known as Flame of the Forest, these bright red flowers add some colour to Bangalore's traffic laden roads.

Jacarandas came and went a month or so back...

Sunset on the NICE BMIC road

This awesome road - part of the BMIC : Bangalore Mysore Infrastructure Corridor - is meant to connect Hosur Road - Bannerghatta Road- Kanakapura Road - Mysore Road. I hear the government (the greedy ppl that run it, that is) have been blocking the project and so it remains incomplete. The connect across Bannerghatta Road is a lunar landscape. Knkpura Road to Mysore Road is a brilliant drive anyday.

Huge Cake

How is this for size? I'm not sure if you can fathom the scale, but this carrot cake was huge. It must've been 1/4 kilo and it was served as dessert after dinner at the RockBottom.

Metro Transit - Public Transport @ Mpls

Metro Transit is a network of buses and lightrail trains like this one.

The frequency isn't very good but with a little bit of patience you can get anywhere you want and back.

Advert for Fever FM

Double entendres in ads have become the norm rather than the exception. Takes a lot of creative ability to devise, I agree. Though, too many of them is a tad yawny!!

Found stuck in the PVR B'lore restroom.

Magnolia

Litchies with icecream @ Magnolia. After a long time, went there this sunday. The guy waiting on us was pretty rude :-(. Us having to repeat orders, him nonchalantly replying or not replying to our questions. The food's awesome though.

Got to use zook (thru SMS) to get Magnolia's number. Cool!!
